Dogs have provided happiness and companionship to mankind for generations. Dogs are born with trust in us and, their trust can't be destroyed. Our relationship with a dog can be challenged however, by their natural behavior. Acts such as relieving himself anywhere, excessive barking, jumping, chewing and various types of aggressive behavior are all natural.
Dogs are pack animals and, the pack can consist of either humans or other dogs. They become part of a social structure called a dominance hierarchy which serves to maintain order within the pack. This hierarchy is determined by the interactions between themselves and the other members their pack and, they will constantly challenge for a higher position.
A dog doesn't know the difference between right and wrong as humans perceive it. It is up to us to determine what he's trying to say or do since he can't speak for himself. We are obligated to take responsibility for our dog, and devote the time necessary to teach him and, shape his behavior.
We must expect results from our teaching efforts. Once we are in control of our dog, and we know how to take advantage of his natural behavior, we can teach him to adapt to our lifestyle and obtain the results we expect. Hence, the name DOGS and US.
